Float floor on expanded polyester?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Float floor on expanded polyester?

Post by H-Musikk »

Hi,
I'm new here. Just stared to bulid up a studio in my basement. I have one little question (I've tried to find the answere here but havn't) Because of the limited hight of my rooms I plan to use expanded polyester direct on the concrete and bulid the floor up on that. Will this give me a sufficient floating floor???

Regards
Gunnar

The expanded polyester I plan to use is about 2" (5 cm)

The point of the links I gave you had to do with the logic of building a flaoting floor if you aren't doing it out of concrete.

Read through them.

Greetings

Also importantly read this thread http://www.recording.org/ftopict-28211.html

It's very unlikley you'll need a floating floor. If you do, then it's important to do it properly!!!
