Bass Trap Question...

I got a chance to get some foil faced 3lb/ft3 density fibergalss sheets. I built all my traps without foil, is foil ok? Also, should the foil be towards the room or towards the wall? Should I remove the foil fomr one of the 2 sheets? I usually stack 2 x 2" thick sheets, this time I can only get 1.5" thick. Is that going to be too thin (1" loss) or are they still going to be effective? They do have 1" think ones and I could buy 4 of them and stack them. Would that work? The 1" are also faced in foil.

If you want bass only absorbtion, then the foil is OK and mount it facing out into the room.
