Filling holes in arched brick ceiling?

Hello -

Newbie here starting work on my new basement studio. This particular space has an arched brick ceiling but there are a few places where there are some holes that need filling (some are large - about 4-5" sq.) and a couple of pipes which come down through a large hole.

Any suggestions how to tackle this before I start with other construction?
