When building a sound proof room has anyone tried using "Roxul Insulation" on the ceiling?
If so, how has it work out for you?

Roxul is a brand, so you'll need to be more specific with the exact type of insulation you plan to use. For example, there's Roxul Acoustical Fire Batt (AFB).

If you have a tough time getting your hands on Roxul Acoustical Fire Batt (AFB) - ≥2" (2.5 pcf), a similar/competing product is Thermafiber Sound Attenuation Fire Blankets (SAFB) - Nominal Density (2.5 pcf).

Also, for inside of walls/ceilings if you can't find the heavier stuff the normal, fluffy fiberglass insulation will come within 1 or 2 dB of the same performance; it's only in the room itself where the higher density stuff makes much difference... Steve
Soooo, when a Musician dies, do they hear the white noise at the end of the tunnel??!? Hmmmm...
