Backer rods, caulking and finishing the room for painting.

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

OK, cool; I'd take a small board (1/4 plywood will do) cut a slot in it the width of your largest wire, get all your wires in a row, slide the board over the wires (some waxed paper between the wall and the board is good idea), then squirt enough spray foam in between the wires to fill the hole (but NOT enough to make a plug that reaches the opposite wallboard) -

After the spray foam hardens (lean something against the board during cure time) then remove the board, caulk as necessary (or mud to smooth surface if you're going to paint) -

A more elegant way(maybe) would be to cut in an "old work" box, fill it with caulk and put a slotted cover plate over it... Steve
Soooo, when a Musician dies, do they hear the white noise at the end of the tunnel??!? Hmmmm...
