I've noticed an increase in the length and/or frequency of down time on this site. I'm wondering if there's a regular maintenance schedule that we can be shared with us. For example, it seems the site is down each day around 8 AM Pacific Standard.

Perhaps daily backups are taking longer these days because the forum has grown so much. 8)

I received SMTP e-mail from a fellow forum member about this, so I know I'm not the only one who's curious. :roll:

This might also be a nice opportunity for John and/or whoever handles the technical behind-the-scenes stuff to talk about the costs of keeping this site up and running and how making a donation can and does help pay the bills. ;-)

I'm very sorry. There is a technical glitch with the database backup script that is still being ironed out. This problem will be resolved shortly, and usually rears its ugly head between 6:00 and 7:00AM MST (GMT -7).
