Yet another "gator" - ain't life grand??!?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Finally got into off period, (*&^(* water heater's dead - both elements open. When I get hot water, you'll all get answers (hopefully) - later... Steve

Well at least you didn't blow out your pilot light with a leafblower like I did and lived without hot water for a day and a half before realizing the root cause and that it's actually not that difficult to relight a pilot light on a water heater!

Yeah, I got me one a them "pilotless" heaters - it's called "electric"

Got away with replacing both heating elements, the upper came out in pieces (cut by me) because apparently I'd neglected to kill power one time when flushing out the gloriously iron/manganese rich well water, and the long, folded, low density element drooped to about 45 degrees. What a pain getting that one out, but at least it's done and lesson learned - never thought I'd be GLAD to be "in hot water"... Steve

On another note, I'm in the process of becoming a "Gramps" for the third time, first time for this particular daughter - so things around here will likely get delayed a bit, she's about 15 hours into labor as I write this. I'll get back as soon as I can, if your thread is BELOW this one and you still have questions please "bump" so I can find it easier - thanks... Steve

Well congrats to you Pampa Steve, for the third time!! With all those grandkids, who needs a studio or gators, you got a "built"-in fun and laughter generator..hehehehehe  Hope your daughter and baby are doing ok.

Steve, still got the monitors. Just no time to deal with it. I'm going up to Eugene next month. I'll give you a holla when.

Thanks Kieth, I figured it was safe to poke my nose in here for a moment.. I've been lurking though, and keepin tabs on your progress when I can  Although I haven't looked in a week or so, it looked like you have a pretty good handle on your project. Hope the rest goes smooth for you.

Sorry bout that last time Steve. I didn't know we were going to make the trip untill the last minutel. It looks as though I might be able to deliver them next trip. My wife is staying a few days with her sister in Eugene. I'll definitely let you know in advance, and if we can work out a time, cool. Can't wait to meet you. Later buddy. Oh, I've tested one and its ok. I'll test the others this weekend.

Cool; if you'd rather, I'd be glad to spring for gas money from Eugene to my place and back if you'd like to see real bohemian lifestyles - that's if wife doesn't need the wheels and you have time, etc - or I could meet you there, whichever way you prefer. Thought you might like to see where the studio will eventually go, if/when I get off my ass  - your call, I'm good either way... Steve
