Useless with Smartdraw/Sketch Up

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Useless with Smartdraw/Sketch Up

Post by Altered Beats »

Hello,

We are a production company based in London UK.

We have been lurking on the forum for a while and have found it very very informative, so thanks :)

Basically Im not too good with sketchup/smartdraw and have only been able to map out our new studio space in paint.

If anyone could turn these plans into a to scale diagram I would be most grateful.

The space is a long 20ft x 84 ft approx space, all brick built with various brick built rooms running down the lefthand side of the unit.

The plan is to make the rear of the space a nice open plan control room with an Iso booth and 2 production rooms we will be hiring out to producers to cover our costs.

I would love to see peoples ideas on this.

We are looking to build the unit up slowly and to save money work around the layout as it stands i.e keep the rooms and walls etc.

The red squares on the lower drawing are possible updates for the future.

The larger one is a potential live room of 12 x 26 approx with 10ft ceiling which would be room in a room (we plan this for 6 months time)

The smaller square is a lounge with 8 ft ceiling and storage on the top as the ceiling goes to about 18 ft in a point.

I have some photos of the unit and will post them up tomorrow, its full of junk right now but we will be clearing it out next week.

Thanks for your help!
