Sound Engineered Drywall

Find out where to get building materials in your local area. If you find a good outlet post it and others will be able to access it through the search engine.

Sound Engineered Drywall

Post by Mozi69 »

Does anyone have an opionion on sound engineered drywall such as Supress or QuietRock? The website claims 1 layer has the acoustic performance of 8 plys of traditional 1/2" sheetrock. It's expensive but could save time, space, etc., if it is really what it purports to be. Am building double 2x4 wood framed walls for iso booths and control room. Thanks! Matt

There are lots of opinions on QuietRock (and similar products) in these forums... All of them seem to be pretty negative. Click "Search" at the top of the page, and have at it.

PS: Also, before someone yells at you for it, you should probably edit your profile to include your location. Oh yeah, and ready all the "sticky" threads.
