Gobo construction

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Gobo construction

Post by blas »

Okay campers, I need some advice: Gonna build some gobos out of MDF, about 6 foot high and about 30 inches wide, question is...da' footing. Since I'm an AUDIO engineer, not a construction engineer, how wide does the footing need to be? What is the least amount I can get by with without being dangerous? If you have a drawing of design idea's please throw 'em my way!

"how wide does the footing need to be? What is the least amount I can get by with without being dangerous?" - Depends on how drunk you are :? But I'd keep it at LEAST 18" each side of center. Do you need these to go all the way to the floor? John posted a pic a while back of some custom made steel caster brackets that was pretty cool -
