i have heard that drywall have some strong qualities in terms of isolation and absorbation both. I just want to know it would be helpful to make a dead room using drywall on wooden studs lined with insulation around 3-4" or it needs some other absorber also..... i just needed a enviornment from where i can get good violins.... strings and winds........ what i can have a reflective concerate floor...... i have though to make some wall of drywall with insulation and some of with cloth covered insulation .....

Krish - drywall is good for sound isolation but it is not an absorber of sound. To absorb sound you need various absorbers to built within the room. Go to

and read absorbers and then go to

and check out the construction pics of the studios there.

great layout
some querries regarding your drawing:
rear wall of room with High Frequency insulation and covered with drywall?
two slot resonator walls: tuned for which range of frequencies?
Corner traps split into two parts the lower one for acoustic hangers?
