Looking for input on this acoustic treatment

Post by alexhanke »

We are building a recording studio in an old radio station. The walls are alldouble layer gypsum on wood stud, with fiber insulation in the walls. Ceiling height is 10' 4". THe only room with any treatments designed in the system here, is the Large Live room. There will also be an Iso room for other recordings. Both rooms are situated off of the control room which has windows looking into both other rooms. The glass is double paned in the windows as well already. Drop ceiling's with 3 ' above them to insulated metal roof. Has acoustical foam tiles in grid already with 3 inches of batted insulation laying on top of that. Just a rough idea of acoustic treatments in the room, will hang on a 1 x 4 track to alow us to move them around the room as needed. Let me know if you think this is too much/not enough, wrong stuff altogether. I am considering hanging a cloud from the ceiling that will have acoustic treatments on it as well. It is the second Sketchup file attached. All of these will be covered in 3 inches of Owens COrning 703 as well as al treatments on the walls. THere is nothing on the walls now, we are still in the design phase of the remodel.

Please don't be too harsh about the sketchup drawings, I have only been using the program about 3 days. Thanks in advance for the help. Current budget for acoustic treatments for the 3 rooms is 6- 9 thousand dollars. GOing to do all the carpentry work and myself and build all my own panels.
