slat depth works
Hey !
I have changed the depth of slats and found a great changes in calculation. See here.....
Standard Slat Width=6"
Air Gap= 3" to 6"
1. 200-256Hzs
Slat Depth:75mm Slot Width: 6mm
2. 238-288Hzs
Slat Depth:50mm Slot Width: 6mm
3. 289-359Hzs
Slat Depth:75mm Slot Width: 12mm
4. 335-403Hzs
Slat Depth:50mm Slot Width: 12mm
5. 371-459Hzs
Slat Depth:75mm Slot Width: 20mm
6. 428-515Hzs
Slat Depth:50mm Slot Width: 20mm
7. 486-598Hzs
Slat Depth:75mm Slot Width: 35mm
8. 594-708Hzs
Slat Depth:50mm Slot Width: 40mm
9. 687-814Hzs
Slat Depth:75mm Slot Width: 45mm
Is it right?
Cheers

Yeah - it's a pretty deep slat but that will work. With slats that deep i.e. 75mm (3") x 150mm (6") and 50mm x 150mm alternating it looks cool if you run them vertically and it becomes a sort of diffuser as well
I did something similar at Guruland where we used 6" x 2" with the 6" as the depth and the 2" as the slat face.
cheers

dear john,
i am currently building the wideband slot resonator wall as per the final plan.... just want to confirm the frequency range, i think for vocal 200-800hzs is fine?

completed....
John i have just complete building my basic structure for the vocal studio, it includes 2 wide band slot resonator wall tuned for 200-800Khz. The contrasting walls have a sheetrock finish and insulation inside, and same sheetrock on ceiling and insulation inside. I am planning to lay a carpet on floor, what about the ceiling and sheetrock walls ? these should be covered by some cloth or i leave it simply painted? I am also having a heavy door in the booth and afraid that wooden door will be a subject of any acoustical problem ?
