Hey there! New to the forum, this is my first post and the sure seem to be loads of held knowledge in this forum. Great.
My question is if someone knows if it's possible to combine a "fake" tilted wall with a broad band slot resonator? I am planning a control room with the (what I believe it's called) "non-environment-room" design. The design includes splayed (is that the word btw?) walls to minimize standing waves, and what I would like to do, is to use these walls as slot resonators. I know I have to box em up with a "roof" on the boxes over the false ceiling (making a box with the original wall that is), but would I limit any of the wall's uses? Would the slot resonators not work or do I loose the "breaking up standing waves" ability of the walls by not having them solid? More, I'm hoping that it's possible to fill these boxers with hangers as well, making a full low to mid absorber?
Is this possible?
Thanks in advace! / Pierre

Pierre,
Please read the forum RULES that can be found at this link:
http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=17
Please correct your initial post to conform with these rules and guidelines. Many here will not only NOT help while waiting in respect for owners and other better qualified persons to proceed, but will simply ignore these type of posts completely.
You may want to immediately ask "what is it that I have missed".
Trust me in that the more you know the better others can help you and that the answer to "that" question is in the forum rules linked page.
Until then, good luck,
Brien

Pierre
as X-Space mention read the stickies
But rapidly Non-environement control rooms exclude reflective side walls (resonator would be reflective to high freqency) all surface exept front walls and floor should be absorbent down to very low freq. Helmotz resonator by design should not have any hangners in their cavity. Splaying walls would only help controlling modes down to roughly 300hz-200hz below that they don't do much, and just distort modal distribution in an unpredictable way.
