where can i find acoustic rated caulk? and other stuff..

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Where are you located?

Acoustic sealant can be found at several drywall/gypsum suppliers (the one's that supply to contractors). If you buy it by the case, you can usually talk them into a better price break (quantity price).

Just out of curiosity, what's your intention for the drywall/drywall screws (Type G, in USG lingo)? BTW, the same suppliers mentioned by Aaron are your best source for the RC as well - Here in the NW USA I found RC available at a couple of drywall suppliers locally, for around $2.10 per 12' length... i read that if i double drywall, the second layer should NOT go into the wood studs, it should just go thru into the drywall, but i dont know how it would stay there really.............

Can you describe your intended wall construction from outer surface, through the wall to the other outer surface? (You may have read some old info that has been discussed and updated; that's why I need to know exactly what you're planning BEFORE you build it) Steve
