I've been looking for a while and finally got some yesterday.

The fire-rated sealants in Australia seem to usually be acoustically rated as well, for some reason.

I looked around and ended up buying "Firecaulk" made by bostik. (Picture below). Its a dense, non hardening, accoustic sealant.

The main reason I used this is that it is one of the few that comes in 300mm cartridges (as well as the regular 600mm cartridges, the sausages and the buckets).

It's also acryllic so it washes off with water and is easy to work with.

Polyurethane sealants apparently work a bit better but they dont come in 300mm cartridges so you'll have to fork out for a 600mm cartridge gun or one of the sausage guns ($70).

I got my stuff from Trifix fasteners at granville (Sydney).

I recommend ringing Bostik on (02) 8825 3488 and finding your closest supplier.

go to Bunnings and get some Sikaflex... (not sure on spelling) its about $18 per tube but its awesome stuff. My mate just built his studio and tryed every product in the shop but said the Sikaflex was by far the best...

not exactly sure on that. its the standard size that fits in a standard chaulking gun.
