More Wall Construction Effects

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Read part of that thread, and now I'm off to the "mad scientist laboratory" to design a non-magnetically levitated, infinitely rigid, low cost sound impervious wall from old truck tires... :?
