Wall brackets

Is it a good idea to attach speakers to a wall using wall brackets? (I apologise in advance for my ignorance on this subject)

I don't have a problem with wall brackets themselves - as long as they don't transmit vibration to the wall (which would mean a very heavy, stable bracket). The issue is that reflections caused by putting the monitors close to the wall create some very severe response problems. If you download my Wall Bounce Calculator in the Acoustics forum and play with it a bit, you'll see what I mean.
