Tannoy Reveal Passive

Post by Gwen »

John mentionned in a post that he had good results soffit-mounting Tannoy Reveal Passive (the red ones).

However, these monitors have a rear port for bass reflex. What am I supposed to do with this ? Close it ? Ignore it ? Plug a pipe to bring the air to the front of the soffit ?

Well, I personally think soffit mounting a rear ported speaker is the wrong thing to do. But if you really want to do it, then I would plug the port with foam... or maybe a rolled up sock. ;)

Thanks Thomas - I think I will not soffit them then. I'll use proper stands and traps right behind.
