Hi all-
I'm trying to create a budget of what to expect to spend when I move to my new home and start to build out a home studio in the basement. I'm planning on building out a control room, live room and iso room for vocals using the methods of construction talked about in the forum. I'll probably design with help here and then get contractors to do the bulk of the actual construction. I want hardwoods on the floor with rugs here and there to dampen when needed.
I'm curious how much folks, spent at the end of the day (materials, labor, etc...) on their studios? Did you do the construction or did you contract that part of the work out? Any other factors that contributed great to expense that might not be obvious and anticipated?
Any feedback appreciated. I'd like to get some idea togeather of what I'll be expecting to invest into this project.
Thanks very much.
Lee
Rough budget estimate - $$$ spent building your studio?

Hello Lee. I live in Coos Bay. Small world huh? Well, once you decide on the
design, what you need in isolation, and then budget it, you'll need a set of plans for BID and any contractors you may hire. If you need help with the drawings, give me a holler. Thats what I do professionally(no spam, just offering help)
Steve and others can help you with your iso and acoustical planning, and once set, I can detail it so you will know how to build it. I simply lay it out in detail for the contrators so NOTHING is left to the imagination. Anyway, let me know if you need help. Here is a sample LAYOUT. It's only my little home studio plan. Construction details are a bit more complex.
