Hi All
Another question:
My room is roughly 19X10X8 and there will be 3" thick 703 panels at all the mirror points in the room including the ceiling as well as 703 panels in each corner (floor to ceiling).
My speakers are Noteperfect Alpha pro's and are rear ported.
Now on one of the the the end walls I have the option of either putting 3-2X4 panels (side by side) between the corner traps or putting book cases 60" X 60" X 12" filled with books.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated on whether or not to do this and if so which end would be better, the far end or the speaker end?
Thanks
Don

A bookcase with books - no matter how randomly placed - is not a diffusor. At least, it's not a very good one. If you want diffusion back there either buy or build a real diffusor.

Please post accurate information. Diffusors CAN BE MADE with books. They require the same attention to detail (size, depth, width etc) as any other diffusor.Ethan Winer wrote:Don,

Please try not to be a jerk, okay?

The conventional wisdom is that a book shelf full of books in a random fashion is a serviceable diffusor. It is not. Yes, you could probably rig together such a contraption with books. But to duplicate a true QRD diffusor the books and shelves would all have to be a uniform height, the depths would have to be precise, the book spines would need to be more reflective than any book I've ever seen, and so forth. So for all that effort one might just as well build a real QRD diffusor from wood or MDF.
