How do you remove a sliding glass door?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

How do you remove a sliding glass door?

Post by Nineteen Billion »

My friend just closed on his house. The developer who bought it agreed to let me rob the place of its four sliding glass doors before the fire department comes and torches the building for practice. The entire house is brick. That's pretty much all the info I know right now. Any ideas? Thanks!

Google is your friend. According to this page:
  • Remove the screen panels by lifting them out.

Lift out the glass slider using a friend - the panes are heavy and you don't want to drop them.

Unscrew the brackets holding the stationary panel.

Using a drill, unscrew the frame from the wall.

With the pry bar, loosen and remove the exterior facing and interior molding. If you plan to reuse the facing or interior molding, try not to damage it with the pry bar.
A more detailed narrative is located here.

But don't take my word for it -- I'm sure some more basic Google searches will uncover the instructions you're looking for.
