Durabond

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Not sure if you guys use this stuff, but i would just like to wholly recommend it to everyone for slapping up plaster onto a plastered wall. easy to apply, cheap (get a gallon and save yourself a good bit), hardens within 30 mins full curing within 24hrs and dilute to cater for your needs.

3:1 for plaster.

although priming is essential for less pourous surfaces.

haha thanks steve. i'm just referring to the PVA adhesive. the stuff that you put on plasterboard to stick it to walls.

i mean, it's so easy to use, i'm using it on the interior wall of a structure. i'm just kinda sad cos i'm never gonna see it cos the floating studio will be going up in a few days and it's walls will block our "beautiful" job!

Little Link I think he was talking about this stuff. We use it a lot instead of joint compound on drywall joints, especially for first coat on small jobs because it sets up quick and it doesn't shrink like regular compound does. They also make an easy-sand version which can be used for the whole job. A small bathroom can be rocked and finish taped the same day.

Is this product available is the USA (I live near Chicago, IL) all of the web links for PVA Adhesive seem to come from Europe (.UK at the end). Maybe this is referred to by another name in the US?
