Anybody use these guys? (ASI)

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Brien, apparently not; their stuff looks very similar (in pics anyway) to Zero International, but at that low a price I'd check things like what they use for seal material, total weight per foot on their drop seals, etc - otherwise, a bargain may NOT be a bargain if you STILL end up buying the more expensive units... Thanks Steve. I ordered one of their door seals, to check out before I buy more. I'll let you know what happens. Brien

Yes, please do; when you know more, I'd appreciate it if you post both on this thread AND as a separate thread in Building materials forum... Steve

Ok, so I got my doors put together and added the door seals form ASI. The seals work well and are $150 for the full door kit or $50 for the door bottom only. Here's the bad news; Installing these thing can be murder unless the following things are in order. 1) The floor under the door must be really flat-mine was not at certain points in my basement floor and I had to use small wedges to compensate. 2) Do not simply tell them you have a 36" door, you have to measure the opening exactly, and the door bottom needs some extra clearance to fit. I had to do a lot of trimming of the metal which really sucked, and I felt like they should have been more clear about this when I ordered.

When everything is in order installation is simple and fast, and they do work.
