Helmholzresonator: holes instead of slots !?

Hi
first of all sorry for my very bad english.
How everybody here i have a question
is it possible to build a slotresonator with holes instead of slots ?
i think it must work the same but its more easy to get the right distance for the slats, when you need little slats about 1mm.
i will be happy for answers

I think i saw a formula fpr the one with holes in a book (Averys master handbook of acoustics?), i will look it up in the evening.
