Sanding question?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Sanding question?

Post by ram3n »

I'm in the process of building a few slot resonators with timber slots. I'm probably just going to put on a clear laquer on the slots to match the desk for my console (which I bought from someone else). I'm assuming that I need to sand the slots before applying the laquer. Is this true? Also what would be the disadvantages of not sanding if this is the case?

Thanks !

There would be no sonic disadvantage, just a cosmetic disadvantage of not sanding.

I am assuming you will be using a fine grit paper for smoothing only correct?

purely cosmetic - no acoustical difference IMO.
