Question on leaf/insulation.

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Question on leaf/insulation.

Post by slash81291 »

Ok, well i decided that between the live room and control room i want their to be a window, im doing the standard 2 pane, one at an angle etc.

Ok so i will have double wall construction and i am wondering if i should make it so that the middle part between the two partitions should have insulation? that would make it one leaf. but if i just insulate the area with the studs and have airspace between the partitions, would this be better for isolating sound or having it insulated?

thanks

I know this has been covered before -- Steve did some great illustrations on this very subject. Do some searching and you'll find 'em I'm sure. I would do so for you and post a link, but I'm too sleeeeeepy right now to do so.

In fact, I'm going to fall asleep if I'm not careffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
