Just had a rude wake up call in the wee hours of the morning....some drunk asshole just drove his car into my house. Put a great big hole in my wall...the impact shook the house and tossed my Anderson strat halfway across the living room.
While this is certainly an `out of the ordinary`occurance it did make me think a little about how I will be mounting things like absorbers and bass traps to my ceiling in the studio. Make sure these suckers won`t come down on you as you never ever know what can happen!
Fortunately nobody was hurt in this accident.....though I hope that bastard never gets the privelage to drive again.
Cheers,
Kris
Be careful mounting stuff to your ceilings folks....

No studio damage....only damage appears limited to the living room. Even my Anderson barely suffered a scratch (actually only the high E was out of tune). I did lose a crystal candy dish that was my late gradmothers.
I`m very lucky this guy didn`t hit my gas main entrace...his car ended up only 4 feet from it.
Lucky indeed.....

Kris, I'm so sorry to see this.
You have my condolences. I agree, you're very lucky, all things considered. I know it's going to be tough for you during the reconstruction -- my wife and I had to live in a hotel for several weeks following a plumbing fiasco in Summer 2004, so I can relate.
Drunk drivers suck.
