Be careful mounting stuff to your ceilings folks....

Just had a rude wake up call in the wee hours of the morning....some drunk asshole just drove his car into my house. Put a great big hole in my wall...the impact shook the house and tossed my Anderson strat halfway across the living room.

While this is certainly an `out of the ordinary`occurance it did make me think a little about how I will be mounting things like absorbers and bass traps to my ceiling in the studio. Make sure these suckers won`t come down on you as you never ever know what can happen!

Fortunately nobody was hurt in this accident.....though I hope that bastard never gets the privelage to drive again.

Cheers,

Kris

WOW!

Man, I'm glad no one was hurt! That in itself was a PURE Blessing. Sure hope the guy had some *GOOD* insurance!

Did it do any damage to your studio?

Take care, and GOD Bless
Stan

No studio damage....only damage appears limited to the living room. Even my Anderson barely suffered a scratch (actually only the high E was out of tune). I did lose a crystal candy dish that was my late gradmothers.

I`m very lucky this guy didn`t hit my gas main entrace...his car ended up only 4 feet from it.

Lucky indeed.....

Kris, I'm so sorry to see this. :-( You have my condolences. I agree, you're very lucky, all things considered. I know it's going to be tough for you during the reconstruction -- my wife and I had to live in a hotel for several weeks following a plumbing fiasco in Summer 2004, so I can relate.
