Glass - can I use the same thickness?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Glass - can I use the same thickness?

Post by JohnGardner »

I know it's considered "best practice" to use glass of differeent thickness in adjoining frames however I have stumbled across a source of 10mm plate glass that's FREE

I was going to use 10mm and 8mm plate glass to keep up with my walls that are two layers of 5/8th one side and one layer of 5/8th the other side but this was going to cost me about $250

Would it be a huge problem to use this FREE 10mm plate glass on each side?.

One of the panes will be angled as you can see from the attached photo.

Thanks

I guess not.
Your walls are a little less weight than the glass per m^2.

So no problem, go for it.
