Hi all,
I am pondering about a window between control room and tracking room, and wonder if there's an easier way out (never eh?) than building my own window, and their drawbacks:
1. PVC/vinyl window from local hardware store with 2 ply of glasses
2. PVC/vinyl window from local hardware store with 1 ply (or 2) of glass and later adding a layer of plexiglass angled a few degree (up or down) on the control room side. Some how use foam/silicon to fixate it on the existing window frame.
I read about the need of lamination, angling, thickness and buffering - but I'm looking for an easier way. I wonder if anybody have success (or failure) in using premade PVC windows for such purpose. Two things that I worry about are:
- vibration/resonance
- sound proofing ability
Obviously the workdesk will be facing the window and the monitors location will hopefully be beside the left and right of the window.
Any suggestion?
Ernest
