Studio from scratch

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

I checked it out, but it's not gonna be cheaper around here.
I have a Metal (!!!) garage on my property and the plan has slighty changed. I'll remove the crappy garage and build a brick building. Backdraw of that is that I have to wait six weeks for the city to grant me a permit.
