Slot resonator door and rear wall question

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Slot resonator door and rear wall question

Post by Tom Zartler »

I was curious if anyone has built a door in a slot wall. I've been scratching my head on how to utalize the closet for my mic, cable and stand storage. I am about to hit the sack and just had to post.

Also, I was curious if I angled the rear wall, so it stood out on the ceiling, would I get as good results? (bottom picture).

If so which of these fabrications would be best?

1 Cloth over 703 in timber frame.
2 Cloth over 703 laminated to fiber board
or
3 Puffy fiberglass laminated to fiber board then compressed and cloth covered.

Thanks so much for any comments

Tom

All right, couldn't sleep.....

Here is a better idea. The walls in the rear corners would be kept angled to permit the door opening fully.

good nite
